Testing For additional information on specific testing, please click on one of the following links. Residue Testing of Meat GuaranTek Analytical Laboratories tests for the absence of residues in meat from antibiotics steroids, growth promotants and most importantly, pesticides. Since 1995 GuaranTek has been expanding its testing capabilities in this field. Recently our lab became a USDA testing lab for chlorinated pesticides. Some people may have adverse health reactions to some of the pesticides used in agriculture. Some cancers may actually be intolerance to pesticides. Pesticides in food can actually act as endocrine inhibitors and unbalance our own bodies' hormone systems. Potentially if we eliminate foods containing those pesticides that we may be better able to combat cancer in our bodies, as well as other detrimental health conditions. Additionally, antibiotic use in feeds and direct use should be minimized. Bacteria are developing resistance to certain antibiotics. for example, in Europe, Salmonella DT104 is resistant to at least five antibiotics used in humans. If you get food poisoning for salmonella DT104 you could end up hospitalized at least 50% of the time, and it can't be treated with certain antibiotics. GuaranTek Analytical Laboratories can test for the absence on commonly used antibiotics from kidney tissue. We can also test for synthetic steroids and growth promotants. This is a concern to us as these substances increase natural hormone production in animals, to build more muscle. Pesticides are more harmful than steroids or growth promotants will ever be. GuaranTek Analytical Laboratories has a broad range of chemical residue testing for pesticides, antibiotics and steroids in meat products and animals.
